Nantucket Vineyard......
If all goes well & I get to visit Nantucket Island this summer the Nantucket Vineyard is on my list. I have been to Nantucket on several occasions and never visited the vineyard. It is located on the way to Cisco Beach. It will be their 25th anniversary & I hope to be able to be there.NANTUCKET VINEYARD TOUR INFO FROM THEIR WEBSITE
Tour Info:
- Tours last 1 - 1.5 hours
- The cost of the tour is $20 per adult which includes many samplings of our products
- We also offer an exclusive "Notch" tour which includes a tasting of our famous whiskey.
- Sign up in the brewery bar, this is where the tour starts
- Tours cover the behind the scenes operations of the brewery, distillery and winery.
- Children are neither discouraged or encouraged to join in on tours, please use your own discretion, there is no charge for underage participants
- We do not have a restaurant on site nor do we have any food for sale on site, therefore we encourage you to bring your own snacks or to eat before the tour.
- Each tour includes a tasting glass for you to keep!
I am looking forward to this trip.....picnic lunch, ocean breeze on my cheeks & blowing my hair! Oh, I just can't wait!!! Then "blog time"!

Cakebread Wine...over the weekend..YUM!
Over the weekend I uncorked a bottle of Cakebread Cellars wine to share with a friend. A gift from another friend, I was saving it for a special occasion. I have had this delicious luxury several years ago when a friend of mine introduced me to the wines of California. I loved it then & I love it now!
Cakebread Cellars of Napa Valley had their first vintage in 1973. They produce world-class wines. I have been honored to have been given several bottles of their outstanding wine. I remembered well as I lifted that glass to my lips. When you have a luscious wine you can almost always recall the smell & taste even if it has been several years since it hit your palate. It was all I had remembered and more. The color bold & beautiful, deep & dark. Berry scents from blackberries to boysenberries. Touched with earthy scents & violets, soft and gentle. With hints of coffee & mocha. It was grand to drink of this fruit once again. The tannins were soft and silky. It is indeed still one of my favorites & I am touched to have been given this wine once again as a gift. For me it is a special occasion wine I would bring out for my friends....that is if I happen to receive another bottle as a gift! The alcohol content is 15.1% .It is made from 100% syrah grapes seasoned in French Oak barrels. I would love to go to a Cakebread Cellars tasting.....to me it would be like going to the spa...exciting then relaxing and refreshing at the same time!

South River Vineyard...Geneva, Ohio
About 4 years ago a friend & I visited this winery one weekend. The tasting room is in the building which once housed the church. It was evening when we arrived and the atmosphere was very warm and inviting.This is the first place I had a taste of Ice Wine. I would love to go back during daylight hours and further enjoy what the winery has to offer. The pavilion to the left of the church in the picture has a stone fireplace and would be a great way to relax on a cool evening with a glass of wine & some great friends. South River Winery you are definitely on my list this summer!
